Dear Art Lover,

Autumn is here and in full swing. This is perhaps my favorite season for making art.

Over the summer I gathered new source material. I made many new photographs while camping in Big Sur. I painted and sketched and collected raw materials for direct scans. These elements are now being woven into a new series of work that will be unveiled during my Open Studios in spring ’03.

My time at SIGGRAPH 2002 was productive and inspiring. I lead workshops in The STUDIO on alternative digital printmaking processes. It was an exciting time to share and learn from one another. I look forward to seeing some of you back in the Guerilla Studio next summer in San Diego.

I’ve decided to give my fine art a home all it's own. I invite you to visit my new website located at The site features information on the artist (that's me), the art, news and a new online shop. In the shop you'll find a catalog of fine art, greeting cards, postcards, and a poster for peace. All can be purchased online using Paypal, a safe and easy-to-use service for online credit card transactions. I hope you'll stop in and take a look around the new site.

An all-new, full color book titled Secrets of Award Winning Digital Artists has just been release. Written by artist Jeremy Sutton and digital art evangelist Daryl Wise, the book highlights 50 of today’s award winning digital artists. With a forward written by artist Peter Max, and the pages within featuring artists that I admire, I’m honored to have a chapter that deconstructs my work Gesture V. Published by Wiley. ISBN: 0-7645-3691-5.

Shankar Barua has just published his sixth issue of The IDEA, an Indian Documentary of Electronic Arts. Distributed on CD-Rom, this issue features digital art, electronic music, editorial and current electronic art events in India and around the world. A large portfolio of my work is featured on the CD. If you're interested in a copy of the CD, contact me.

During the month of November I'll be leading workshops that focus on creating hand-pulled monoprints from digital files. Attendees will learn how to transfer their digital images onto paper, canvas, wood and other custom substrates using traditional artist materials and digital printmaking techniques. If your interested in future workshops, let me know and I’ll add you to my workshop mailing list. New workshops coming in January.

The Beecher Center for Technology in the Arts at the Butler Institute of American Art is currently exhibiting a collection of digital art. Red Wall with Ferns and Evening Sky with Bamboo were chosen to represent my work. The work is currently on exhibit at the Beecher Center in Youngstown, Ohio.

A followup on the Adobe Magnificent 7 honor. Adobe Systems has added pura puseh to their corporate art collection. At a dedication held in October, I presented the mixed-media piece to Brian Lampkin, VP of Adobe's graphics division. It's a great honor to have a piece of my art on the walls of this great company. I'm hoping it ends up on the Photoshop floor after a short stay in the Executive wing.

I’m accepting new private, public and corporate commissions on custom artwork. Commissioned artwork is created specifically for you, and provides you with the opportunity to celebrate life or business events through the creation of a piece of art.

Contact me for a studio visit if your interested in seeing my art in-person. I’m always happy and honored to share it with you.

If your on the East Coast, visit Alpers Fine Arts in Andover, Mass to see a collection of my digital original prints. Peter, Betsy and Tony will share their collection of paintings and works on paper in their lovely gallery located outside of Boston. Alpers Fine Art - 2 Main Street, Andover, MA – ph:978.470.0013.

Check out the paintings by friend and artist J. Garcia. J. is a muralist, activist, and painter. He aims to erase distances between art & public space. J often paints live onstage at the music events I attend in San Francisco. He’s been an inspiration for me to pull out my paints and canvas and incorporate traditional materials back into my digital work. See his work here.
